New Skills in the Work Place

In-work training is not just for school leavers and new staff: everyone can benefit from new skills. Care worker Jane Cowley told us about how much she enjoyed her learning journey with Swatpro and her trainer Lindy Horsell.

Jane, who works for Care Matters, completed her Level 3 Diploma in Lead Adult Care in October 2021.

She said: “I have really enjoyed learning new things, especially the parts about the progress of advancement in person centred care. I have found Lindy Horsell an excellent assessor and teacher, I can't praise her highly enough. She helped me every step of the way and we also had a good giggle at times too.

“This really brings you up-to-date for work but in far greater depth. It makes your job more interesting and hopefully makes you a more confident carer. I really shouldn't have left it so long, it definitely helps put a new perspective on the job.

“I have been very impressed with the training company and I will continue to look at websites I have been introduced to by Lindy and see if there is anything else I would like to study.”
