Do you want to develop new skills and knowledge in management or in the caring professions? Are you interested in building upon skills and knowledge that you already have?

Then you could benefit from one of our Institute for Leadership and Management (ILM) or City & Guilds’ (C&G) Qualifications.

If you have limited time, but think a part-time programme with 1-to-1 support might be the answer then we can help.

At Varsity Training, we have substantial experience built-up over years of supporting students, teaching in health and social care and working within management and the caring professions. This has enabled us to develop a keen understanding of aspects that may be important to you as a student, which in turn allows us to offer the right support for you.

We understand that for many people, it may have been a number of years since they last took part in training, which may raise concerns as to how they can fit these commitments into a busy family and work life.

This is an area in which we excel; we offer you practical support to take you through your chosen programme: regular 1:1 support is given to all students by a member of our professional and experienced team. This includes any extra support you may require regarding any additional learning needs. We also have a range of blended learning support options to further support you in your apprenticeship.

We make sure that workshop sessions are at the right level and that content is interesting, enjoyable and relevant to your working environment. Because of our practice experience, we are able to advise and offer support to enable you to produce the work needed to complete your qualification.

Obviously, we want you to develop and improve as a skilled manager or carer, but we also want you to enjoy your experience with us. You will have an opportunity to meet new people who have the same aspirations as yourself and be given time to discuss issues that are important to all of us in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. It may be that you already know someone that has been taught by us in the past, so ask them about their experience!

Please feel free to contact us to discuss any thoughts that you have, or you can browse our website at Our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ and ‘Testimonials’ pages can answer most of the questions you may have.

Free car parking is available on site, along with covered bicycle parking. The local district retail area is a short walk away with major retailers and food outlets.

We provide training within the South West of the United Kingdom and are at present working with employers based in Bristol, Gloucester, Bath, Taunton and Weston Super Mare. Many students attend workshops at our St Georges’ facility, but we also deliver either on-site or locally to an organisation if an employer requires, and has a larger group of employees wishing to enrol onto a programme.

Many of our programmes contain blended content with students able to assess training sessions remotely so as to reduce the need to physically attend workshops. This is not suitable for everybody, but it is an option if required.

Varsity Training has a dedicated Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) which contains all of the knowledge components of our programmes and all students have access to this throughout the duration of their programme. We use City & Guilds’ Learning Assistant e-portfolios and all ILM management students have access to Structured Online Learning, Assessment & Resources platform (SOLAR).This resource will be of great benefit to busy managers that need to balance training with a hectic work life.

Varsity Training also offer a range of e-learning programmes through our VTE-learning service. Our e-learning section offers a range of programmes that aim to support the learning and development of your organisation and staff team.

We recognise the value of e-learning to support both organisations and individuals. Whether meeting mandatory training requirements, to building your own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio, e-learning is the most cost and time effective method of achievement.

At Varsity Training we understand that employers need training to be of benefit to the student and to the organisation. That is why our team is both experienced and trained in management and the caring professions; being managers, company directors, qualified nurses, social workers and privately registered care-home owners, and also qualified and skilled in education provision up to degree level. This ensures that knowledge is fully linked to practice.

Our range of nationally recognised, Institute for Leadership and Management (ILM) and City & Guilds programmes have strong practice components that allow our team to ensure that the skills and knowledge that students are taught, make them better practitioners in their work environment.

As part of our expanded service to apprentices and employers we are able to offer advice on the Workforce development fund which can be a way for employers in health and social care to subsidise the cost of training, give advice on the Apprenticeship Levy and how it could impact on your organisation. Finally, we can help you ensure that apprenticeship programmes meet the training needs of your organisation to ensure the best outcomes for both the employer and the apprentice.
