Overview of the Role
The Domestic and Sexual Abuse Support Worker Apprenticeship prepares learners to provide safe, trauma-informed support to survivors, including crisis response, risk assessment, safety planning and multi-agency working.
Details of the Standard
Apprentices will build the skills to advocate for survivors, support them through legal and court processes, and signpost to relevant services, while promoting empowerment, inclusion and survivor voice.
Entry Requirements
For domestic and sexual abuse support workers, apprenticeships ensure training is relevant, hands-on, and aligned with industry standards, helping them build confidence in safeguarding, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care.
English and Maths
For learners over 19, we will support learners to achieve if they and their employer decide to take this route. However, reading, speaking & listening, writing and maths are built into the programme
