Supervising staff and activities within hospitality businesses including bars, cafes, conference centres, restaurants and hotels.
Details of the Standard
Hospitality supervisors work across a wide variety of businesses including bars, restaurants, cafés, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels or contract caterers. They provide vital support to management teams and are capable of independently supervising hospitality services and running shifts. They typically work under pressure delivering fantastic customer service and motivating a team is essential to their role. The majority of supervisors’ skills and knowledge are the same but supervisors may specialise in specific functions or work across a variety of functions which reflect the multi-functional nature of the industry. Specialising in either, Food & Beverage, Bar, Housekeeping, Concierge, Front Office, Events and Outlets.
Entry Requirements
Organisations will set their own entry criteria and are more likely to select individuals with more advanced inter-personal skills, experience of working with customers in some capacity.
English and Maths
Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirement is entry level 3 and British Sign Language qualifications are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language.

Delivery & Readiness
Onboarding includes initial and detailed assessment with sector specialist. regular meetings are flexible and delivered through blended learning approaches, via a mix of face to face and remote delivery. With tri party progress reviews (learner, employer & tutor) and Tri party gateway review prior to end assessment.

On-demand test, a practical observation, a business project and a professional discussion.
