As an apprentice, you're in a unique position. You're learning new skills, gaining real workplace experience and building the foundations for your future career. While some days will feel easier than others, taking a moment to recognise your progress can make a big difference.
Think about the last few weeks. Have you:
- Learned a new skill?
- Completed a task you couldn't do when you first started?
- Received positive feedback from a colleague or manager?
- Helped a customer, colleague or teammate?
If the answer is yes to any of these, that's something worth celebrating!
This month, why not challenge yourself to keep track of one good thing that happens each day? It could be something as simple as finishing a piece of work, speaking up in a meeting, or helping someone out!
Remember, happiness at work isn't about having a perfect day every day, it's about recognising your progress, building positive relationships and taking pride in the work you do.
This week's challenge: Share one thing you've enjoyed or achieved at work recently with your tutor, mentor or fellow apprentices.

For small and medium-sized employers, recruiting new talent or developing existing employees can be challenging—particularly when budgets and operational pressures are tight. The Level 2 Production Chef Apprenticeship offers a practical solution. Eligible apprenticeship training for employees aged 16–24 in England can now be fully funded, making this an excellent time for SMEs to recruit someone new or upskill a current member of staff.
