Supporting every individual

Our Inclusion Champions help us ensure that every apprentice feels welcomed, respected and able to participate fully in their learning.

They promote inclusive practice across our provision and help raise awareness of the different barriers apprentices may experience. They also support our tutors to consider the individual needs, circumstances and strengths of every learner.

Everyone’s apprenticeship journey is different. Some apprentices may need additional learning support, adjustments or help with their wellbeing. Others may want guidance to build their confidence, develop workplace relationships or plan their next career step.

Whatever your circumstances, we want you to feel comfortable speaking to us about the support you need.

Developing through the Swatpro Six

The Swatpro Six brings together the wider areas of personal development that complement your occupational training. These themes encourage you to think beyond completing your qualification and consider the kind of colleague, professional and member of your community you want to become.

During your apprenticeship, you will have opportunities to:

• Strengthen your communication and workplace behaviours
• Reflect on your attitudes, choices and experiences
• Develop your understanding of inclusion and respect
• Prepare for future career opportunities
• Become more independent and take ownership of your development

These skills and behaviours are valuable in every occupation. They can help you manage challenges, work effectively with others and respond positively to new responsibilities and opportunities.

Take time to reflect

Reflection is an important part of learning. Think about where you were when you started your apprenticeship and how far you have already come.

Ask yourself:

• What new knowledge and skills have I developed?
• How has my confidence changed?
• What am I now able to do that I could not do before?
• How have my workplace behaviours and relationships developed?
• What would I like to achieve next?
• Is there any support that would help me reach my goals?

Your answers will be individual to you. Progress looks different for everyone, and success is not only measured by completing assessments. It can also be seen in greater confidence, improved communication, increased responsibility or the ability to approach challenges differently.

Your journey, your goals

Your apprenticeship should help you build a strong foundation for your future. We encourage you to speak openly with your tutor about your ambitions, personal goals and any support needs you may have.

Your tutor is here to listen, guide and support you throughout your journey. Together, you can recognise how far you have come and plan what you would like to achieve next.

Your apprenticeship is more than learning a trade—it is an opportunity to grow, reflect and prepare for your future.
